Get your school, college or university involved!
Disco’s, sponsored events (Attempts at Guinness world records is fun) dress down/up days, Fete’s, collections can all be fun ways to raise money for charity.
Please contact us with your idea so we can support you with fundraising materials like posters etc.
Fundraising with your community/faith group
Coffee mornings, cake sales, fete’s etc are a great way of fundraising. Maybe you would like to organise a collection on our behalf? We can provide literature, leaflets and posters to help advertise your efforts.
Fundraising at work
Supporting local charities such as Medway Cyrenians is good for business and can make going to work fun! Your company may even be willing to match the amount you raise or make a company donation. If your company’s policy is to sponsor a charity annually please put our name forward, have a dress down or dress up day, get your boss involved!
Even a simple raffle could make your colleagues feel involved and help us provide much needed support to homeless people in Medway (link to Regular Contributions page).Whatever you decide to do, we would be happy to come and talk to you about the issues, our services and our battle with homelessness in Medway. Together we can make your fund-raising event a great success!
General Points to consider
Keep it safe – keep it legal!
Medway Cyrenians cannot accept responsibility for accidents. Common sense measures will ensure your event goes smoothly. Consider all the risks, e.g. health and safety, children’s supervised involvement (especially important for under 16 year olds), check what you are doing is ok with the local authority – you may need licences for your event, there are rules about fund-raising, what about insuring the event? Finally, you must seek permission to use our logo and literature.
