Our Objectives
Medway Cyrenians - Providing a caring community for single, homeless people.
The principal aim of Medway Cyrenians is to help single, homeless people in Medway to get their lives back on track.
Specifically, Medway Cyrenians provides accommodation and support services to single adults, 16 years of age and over, who are already street homeless or at serious risk of homelessness.
A Unique Service
Medway Cyrenians is a secular registered charity, operating a unique service in Medway, providing accommodation and support to vulnerable homeless individuals. The aim is to address the individuals support needs such that they can move on to independent living in a sustainable way and become active and engaged citizens in the local community.
Treated as an Individual
For some clients, a relatively short stay is all that is needed. For others, a longer stay, say, up to two years, may be more appropriate. Each client is always treated as an individual, and their specific needs addressed through a tailored programme of support. Medway Cyrenians recognises that all of humanity passes through our doors and we treat everyone with dignity and respect. Dedicated Staff in an Important Role
Medway Cyrenians professional staff team understands the importance of creating a ‘community’ environment that is both encouraging and supportive. Clients are actively expected to participate in the smooth running of the project they live in. Chores and meals are shared, and clients are required to take an active role in their own progress towards independent living, whatever the pace required.
